Memphis or Bust, January 2017

Laura Blackley & the Wildflowers won first place in the North Carolina Piedmont Blues Society's Blues Challenge October 2016. This means that we will travel to Memphis, TN at the end of January 2017 to compete in the International Blues Challenge! We are excited about what the future holds and for the opportunity to meet and make music with so many musicians from all over the world. There will be a number of fundraisers in the next couple of months. We promise to get the word out about them as much as possible. Hope to see you at a show soon!

Laura Blackley & The Wildflowers are an Asheville, NC-based folk band that borrows heavily from blues and rock and roll. "We are folk tunes set to a blues and rock and roll soundtrack," says the band's frontwoman, singer and guitarist Laura Blackley. Blackley is joined by Ian Harrod on bass and vocals, Josh Gibbs on lap steel, Dorsey Parker on guitar, and Richard Foulk on drums.
